Every cookie has a mission – to help girls do great things!
(Hickory, NC – March 7, 2011) – The public is invited to explore and purchase merchandise at A Walk in The Park gift shops, located in the Vanderbilt wing at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, 290 Macon Ave., Asheville from March 11-13 and support a good cause – Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, Inc.
In partnership with The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, several local Girl Scout troops will have Girl Scout cookies available for purchase. In addition, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa gift shop will donate 10% of its proceeds on Saturday, March 12 to support Girl Scouting.
The girls take active roles in all parts of the Girl Scout cookie program, and proceeds from cookie sales benefit girls in the community. Gift shop hours are 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. with Girl Scout cookies available at the times noted below:
· Friday, March 11 – 4-7 p.m.
· Saturday, March 12 – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
· Sunday, March 13 – 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
“Local businesses like The Grove Park Inn are an essential part of our organization,” said Bess Newton, regional executive, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont. “With the support from local businesses, organizations and the community, we can continue to fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”
The price per box is $4, and all of the proceeds generated from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay within the girls’ local area.
