Asheville/Brevard-based bluegrass sensations the Steep Canyon Rangers team up once again with actor/banjo picker Steve Martin on NPR's folksy variety show A Prairie Home Companion. The show comes live on Saturday from the famed Tanglewood venue in Lenox, Mass.

Earlier this spring, the Rangers backed Martin, playing a few dates in support of Martin's new album The Crow. Martin praised the Rangers, and apparently the shows have been going well — they've all sold out handily, and the collaboration is earning raves.

This Saturday, they'll take the stage again. Also on the Prairie Home bill are actor Martin Sheen and the amazing Stuart Duncan. Catch the show on WCQS 88.1 Saturday at 6 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Waiting for a local Rangers show? Check out the tour schedule and mark your calendars for the Mountain Song Festival September 11-12 in Brevard.
