After years of back and forth over the matter, it looks like the Asheville Civic Center will be one step closer to a new roof if City Council approves the contract for the $1.8 million project, which is on the agenda for Council's July 14 meeting. Other items under consideration at the meeting:

• Following a June discussion on recycling and household waste, Council will now consider a state Department of National Resources grant to begin a residential composting program.

• On the housing front, Council may sell 7.9 acres at Brotherton Avenue to Habitat for Humanity, which plans to build 22 homes there.

• And talks continue over Asheville’s water relationship with Henderson County.

Asheville City Council meets Tuesday, July 14, at 5 p.m. on the second floor of City Hall. Click here for the complete agenda.

    • Here is a clip for your review about URTV, I noticed that Robin Cape & the Mayor has some very hard concerns about the actions of URTV direction.

You watch & make your mind up if the current direction of URTV alerts concerns or not.

I give alot of thanks to Robin Cape for speaking up about her treatment that she recived from the Board & the current Exective Director.

URTV still todays fails to "air" their Board meetings even though they filmed them.

More videos along with a new season of
"Sound Off Buncombe" returning to URTV
      very soon!!!

    • Richard, your posted "clip" is anything but, fair and balanced. Why, did you cut out the URTV Producers counter replies and the invites to the council to visit URTV for themselves and see all of the "problems". I see no problems except the "few" people that keep posting non-issues. As to your statement of "URTV still todays fails to “air” their Board meetings even though they filmed them." there are no requirements that URTV airs the Board meetings in URTV's by-laws or the management agreements with the City or County.

Oh, by the way if, you see Rosenthal tell him I will be more then happy to meet him and go thru those two large binders he keeps lugging around him.

    • Copy-and-Paste the following link for the UNEDITED VERSION of the City Council Meeting.

      http://media.ashevillenc.gov/council/formal7-14-09.wmv

(The URTV Portion begins around 2:32:00)

So Mr. Bernier edited the video he presents in his post? No wonder the URTV Board of Directors didn't want people like him taping meetings.

John Blackwell AND Davyne Dial also have a history of editing footage and then presenting the edited version as "this is how it actually happened."

Haven't these people used up their crediblity yet?

Apparently it hasn't crossed their egos------oops, I mean----------minds; that URTV is better off without them.

    • Fremont,
Glad to see your concern in this matter, maybe you make this into a project & turn it in for air on URTV.(Better yet, I have already did this for you)

If producers uses URTV video eqpt. they are required to turn in a program - however to date they have even failed to complay with this rule.

I stand on what I have said from day one about not following NC Open Board Meeting Laws, im sure you are aware that the current Exective Director had to go up to the County & re-sign their resolution.

    • The video was in a format of 29mins,59secs which is the format for a 30min show for URTV which should be air very soon on URTV.

Here are two produced clips that recaps my thoughts of this matter:
