EVENT NEWS: Meals on Wheels, Wheel Ride for Food
3rd Annual Wheel Ride for Food was a huge fundraising success, raising over $22,000 to benefit Meals on Wheels. 217 riders came out to participate in one of 3 rides, ½ Metric Century (32 mile), Metric Century (65 mile) and Century (100 mile) which including 7000 feet of climbing. Participants came from as far away as Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina, as well as many local riders.
Following the rides, participants enjoyed lunch provided courtesy of Travinia’s Italian Kitchen, where they celebrated the unveiling of the new Meals on Wheels mural covered van. So far Wheel Ride for Food has raised over $75,000 benefiting Meals on Wheels in the three years with the Mountain Sports Festival event. Meals on Wheels thanks all who have made the event so successful.

Hello, I work with the Meals On Wheels Association of America, and I saw this article listed in my Google News Alert for Meals On Wheels. I am not familiar with the Wheel Ride for Food event with your local Meals on Wheels program. Could you please explain to me what exactly it is?
