International Link dissolving, but there’s still plenty to do

As many of you have learned, the board of directors of International Link has decided to dissolve the organization due to limited funds. As the founder and director, I am deeply saddened.

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to provide language and cross-cultural training services and support over the past 12 years. I have had the privilege of doing my right work while serving the local International and wider community.

My main thread of volunteering and striving to make a difference most of my adult life — wherever I have lived — has been to help local international people who have left their country because of a wide range of difficulties. I will continue to serve as a resource in our community, as a link to our local internationals and as a voice for those with limited English. I look forward to continuing to work with you and to support you. Please do your best for our wonderful, enriching immigrant population.

One basic way you can make a difference is to meet people more than halfway by developing your Spanish or other language skills. Another is if you see someone being discriminated against and treated disrespectfully, please consider speaking up for them. If we do nothing, we're part of the problem.
