Ahead of the Sept. 7 release of their new album, TK2, internationally touring local band Toubab Krewe recently filmed a music video for their revamped cover of the old-time tune, "Cluck Old Hen." The shoot went down over the course of two late nights in the white barn at Warren Wilson College, where several of the members went to school and started playing music together. A group of enthusiastic current WWC students joined in as extras for the Animal Farm-themed hoedown.
Renowned fiddler Rayna Gellert and pedal-steel player Roosevelt Collier (The Lee Boys) also joined in the fun.

Members of Toubab Krewe will be back in town on Aug. 25 for a 'TK2' pre-release listening party at Craggie Brewing Company's Public House. In addition to offering fans an opportunity to meet the band and hear the new album, Craggy will offer Toubab Brewes for $2. Craggy developed the Bavarian-Style Zwickel beer in partnership with the band, and donates $5 from each keg sold to Instruments4Africa, a not-for-profit organization that works to provide music and arts education to underprivileged youth in Mali.
Toubab Krewe's next show in the region will be Aug. 28 at the Music on the Mountaintop festival in Boone.
