Brian Eno art installation going up at YMI

Asheville Citizen-Times reports:
Through its long history, the YMI Cultural Center has been home to a drug store, a library, a doctor’s office and a funeral home. But it’s never seen anything like the cutting-edge art installation “77 Million Paintings,” now going up at the in YMI’s old gymnasium.

The project — created by the internationally famous electronic musician and composer Brian Eno — will feature a dozen large video monitors projecting slow-moving digital imagery. There’s even an underlying audio component, though you can’t exactly call it music, said project manager Lauren Snelling. “Depending on where you are in the room, you will hear different sounds,” Snelling said. Eno is known as the “godfather of ambient music” and is a founding member of the band Roxy Music. ...
