Henderson County Sheriff Rick Davis said Wednesday he would take a leave of absence to seek treatment for mental illness ... Davis made the announcement the same day the Citizen-Times received thousands of emails between him and an employee in response to a North Carolina public records law request. ...
“I have been recently diagnosed with mental illness known as manic bipolar disorder,” Davis said in a statement issued Wednesday afternoon [Nov. 23].
