Asheville Citizen-Times reports:
A local man died in a hit-and-run accident Thanksgiving Day at the corner of Broadway and Starnes streets in downtown.

Sgt. Curtis Jones with the Asheville Police Department said officers responded to the scene Thursday after a man who was with the victim called around 3:30 p.m.

Police declined to give the name of the victim pending notification of his family, but Jones said the man lived in Asheville.

Police are looking for a light colored truck, possibly a Ford, with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle, which Jones said was sustained in the accident. The truck was last seen fleeing the scene heading toward Chestnut Street on Broadway.

Anyone with information should call Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers at 255-5050.Read the full article
