Studio 18 vocal jazz ensemble sang in the White House as part of its holiday events on Monday, Dec 13 from about 7:30 to 11 a.m. Later that day, the group went to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and sang for about three hours to soldiers at a holiday luncheon.

"We sang holiday music and had a big, receptive happy crowd," said Chloe Davidson, a member of the ensemble. After singing at the White House, she said, "We took a tour of the Capitol and did spontaneous singing — encouraged by our tour guide — in every room that's part of the tour, including the great hall with the dome!"

Studio 18 is an audition-only vocal jazz ensemble. The group consists of about 25 students and is led by Assistant Professor Melodie Galloway.
