10th annual HeartStrings Benefiting Project Access™ event set for Feb. 12

CrossFit, Zumba, Walking or Chi Walking-- those are the choices the participants of the 10th Annual HeartStrings event will have on Sunday, February 12 from 12-6pm at the Asheville Mall, Tunnel Rd, Asheville. HeartStrings is a fun, physical fundraiser benefiting the Western Carolina Medical Society's Project Access™ program. Individuals, families, groups and business/medical practice teams participate in one hour of exercise. All ages are encouraged to participate.

HeartStrings individuals, families and teams will enjoy exercise, educational sessions, giveaways, healthy snacks and free blood pressure, BMIs, teaching Compression Only CPR, cardiac and health-related screenings.

There is a $30 registration fee and participants may raise additional funds to be eligible for prizes and incentives, including water bottles, special edition technical shirts and jackets. And fundraisers are also eligible for prizes for top earners. A Post-Event Participant & Sponsor and Thank You Party will be taking place on Sunday, February 26, 4 to 7 pm at Barley’s Taproom, Downtown Asheville

WCMS would like to recognize our sponsors to date: Asheville Anesthesia Associates and a grant made possible by CVS. Special consideration and support is provided by the Asheville Mall, CrossFit Asheville, CarePartners Mall Walkers program, ChiWalking, area Zumba specialists and Inspired Image.

Additionally, as part of the special, 10th Annual HeartStrings event, a Project Access™ benefit classical music concert featuring area string and piano ensembles called “Keys to the HeartStrings” will be held on Saturday January 28, 2012 at3:00 p.m. at the Oakley United Methodist Church, 607 Fairview Road, Asheville.
