On a cold and windy MLK day, nearly 1,000 people assembled in and around the St. James AME church. They ranged from toddlers, through a group of young girls marching for the YWCA, to college students, elected officials, various church leaders and the elderly.

After getting a bit of a later start than anticipated, the march proceeded to City-County Plaza where hot cocoa and musical entertainment was waiting, Bells from City Hall played, and people huddled together to block the wind, as speakers related how Dr. King's dream was still alive today.
