Before the "techo contra" dance craze, there was plain old contra dance. And before that, there was English country dancing, the way mid-17th-century kids got jiggy with it. Keeping that tradition alive here in Western North Carolina is the Old Farmer's Ball English Country Dance community. Here's a video showing exactly what traditional mischief these folks get up to.
