FROM ECO (full release)
ECO, the Environmental and Conservation Organization’s Green Energy and Sustainability Committee will hold a special forum on green building titled, “Lessons from Green Homeowners, Their Successes and Challenges” on Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 PM. ECO has held several years of successful Green Home Tours that have spotlighted healthy and sustainable homes that have saved their owners thousands of dollars and helped their families live healthier lives. But how has it worked in the real world? Did their home live up to expectations? How long did it take to recover their investment? Was it all worthwhile?
These questions and many others will be answered by several green homeowners who participated in recent Green Home Tours. According to George Tregay, chair of ECO’s Green Energy Committee, “Most people realize the tremendous savings green and sustainable homes can offer homeowners and the environment. However, many of us would like to know, how well did it work out from planning, to investment to reality? Before anyone makes such an investment, whether it be re-insulating your home or installing photo-voltaic panels on your roof, this forum is an important first step.”
The green home forum will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the ECO Conference Room in downtown Hendersonville. For directions and to reserve a seat in this limited seating location, contact ECO at 692-0385 or online at www.eco-wnc.org.
