Local U.S. Postal Service workers and protesters — including members of Occupy Asheville and Occupy Hendersonville — will rally today at 1:30 p.m. in Pack Square Park to protest proposed cuts.
Speakers will include WNC Central Labor Council President Mark Case, local postal workers union President Joanne Guess, a Benjamin Franklin re-enactor and others.
After the rally, protesters will march through downtown before reconvening at 3 p.m. in Pack's Tavern for a meet-and-greet with local politicians.

I don't want postal service and shouldn't have to pay for it. The protesters would force me to pay, against my will, for a value I don't hold.
Why don't the "members of Occupy Asheville and Occupy Hendersonville" fund those services themselves?

This is an interesting perspective Tim.
Are you implying that you don't like: the DOT, the Treasury, the Police, or the Fire Department as well? Do you think that these are National Socialist institutions that you would rather do without? Would you rather live in an anarchistic, selfreliant society in which you are solely responcible for your own survival and wellbeing?
If so, good on ya. I can't blame you; but I challenge you to go a week without taking advantage of these structures, which are in place to benefit society as a whole.
Personally I don't like paying for our military. In fact I protest its existance. And I've gone years without taking advantage of the "benefits" it provides our society as a whole.
