N.C. courts launch program to help jurors cope with mental-health issues

CHARLOTTE -- Jurors in Charlotte and across North Carolina can now get help if they are emotionally and psychologically distressed over graphic - and sometimes gruesome - testimony or evidence that they must listen to and see during murder and sexual-assault trials.

The N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts in Raleigh has launched a statewide pilot program to help jurors facing mental-health issues that result from grisly evidence presented during trials.
