The Asheville PALS
The Asheville Fire Department is very proactive in teaching the community about fire prevention. The department has several programs in which they interact with the public to teach the young, the old and everyone in between on how to keep safe from fire and injuries from fire. A group of Asheville firefighters have joined forces to form a unique program called the Asheville PALS (prevention and life safety) which are clowns and puppets acting out a scene for local elementary schools on how to be safe from fire. The Asheville PALS will be reaching out to 5 elementary schools and will perform a fun and interactive skit for the kids. The Asheville Fire Department encourages the media to come check out this fun and entertaining program that in turn is helping to educate our local children.
The following are the skit dates, locations and times:
3/21 Johnston Elementary 10 a.m.
3/22 Oakley Elementary 10 a.m.
3/26 Ira B. Jones Elementary 10 a.m.
