The CRA Spotlight Award recognizes a one-time extraordinary event, person, project or program. The winners of this award must demonstrate a strong commitment to waste reduction and recycling and serve as a leader among his or her peers.
The 2012 Spotlight Award winner is Rainbow Recycling’s “Hard-To-Recycle” collection event.
Rainbow Recycling saw a need in its community and worked tirelessly to fill it, say organizers. By gathering together community and private sector partners, they were able to offer recycling for all those “other” items for their community — such as styrofoam, rigid plastics and discarded clothing and cloth The event also set an example for other communities.Read the full article
