How can local leaders, economic developers, funders, farmers, food producers, processors and distributors all work together to grow the economy across the AdvantageWest region?

The multi-state Appalachian Regional Commission's food economy forum, held Tuesday-Wednesday, April 3-4, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel, will focus on how communities can expand the role that food assets and sustainable agriculture play in local economic development, with a goal of increasing employment opportunities, sparking entrepreneurial ventures and building local wealth.

Registration for "Growing the Appalachian Food Economy: A Forum on Local Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture" is $75. An optional local food-and-farm tour will include Blue Ridge Food Ventures, which is playing a significant role in the planning of this event.
