On April 5th at 3p.m. a group of citizens will unveil new civic action plans in the protest against the proposed seizure of the local water system by the state and ask businesses to get involved. Brief statements will be made by Oscar Wong, President of Highland Brewery; David Gantt, Chair of the Buncombe County Commissioners; and Chris Pelly, a member of both Asheville City Council and the Metropolitan Sewage District board.

From the website:
If you believe that decisions about Buncombe’s water should be made locally and not in Raleigh, then come support our work. We encourage you to stand in solidarity with us against the actions of N.C. Representative Tim Moffitt who has said, “All water issues are State issues, not local.” We don’t accept that statement and would love to have your support at the press conference as we continue the fight for local water rights.

The event will be held at City/County Plaza.Read the full article
