(Raleigh, N.C.) April 3rd – Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton today expressed his appreciation for receiving the endorsements of several groups around North Carolina, including: the 8th District Black Leadership Caucus, the Henderson-Vance Black Leadership Caucus, and the Durham People’s Alliance PAC. These groups join the more than 100 state and local leaders who have already endorsed Walter Dalton’s vision for moving North Carolina forward. Additionally, Dalton offered his recent victories in both the Eastern North Carolina Civic Group and the Young Democrats of North Carolina straw polls as evidence that his campaign is gaining momentum.
Referencing their endorsements, Milo Pyne, co-chair of the Durham People’s Alliance PAC, and Mayor Fred Yates, of the Eastern North Carolina Civic Group, cited Dalton’s stance on education and jobs as key reasons for their endorsements.
“Walter’s record impressed us,” said Pyne. “He will fight for education, human rights, and a free and fair ballot for all North Carolinians.”
“Walter Dalton will fight for Eastern North Carolina,” said Yates. “He’s proven that he can bring 21st-century jobs to rural areas, and he’s invested in a new generation of rural leadership.”
“Clearly, these endorsements indicate the broad support we’re seeing around the state,” said Dalton. “North Carolinians understand the need for continued investment in education and infrastructure and they know that Republican leadership has us pointed in the wrong direction. I’m the only candidate in this race who can beat Pat McCrory and I have the vision to put North Carolina back on the right track.”
