MedWest Health System today announced the resignation of Mike Poore, President and Chief Executive Officer of MedWest-Haywood.
Mike has decided to explore other opportunities in executive healthcare leadership. He will officially leave the organization effective April 27.
John E. Young, Group Vice President for the Western Division of Carolinas HealthCare System, will serve in a transitional leadership role. Young will be assisted by Steve Heatherly, who will continue in his role as President of MedWest-Harris and MedWest-Swain.
Mike has been recognized for many advances at MedWest, MedWest-Haywood, and Haywood Regional Medical Center, and led the teams that achieved much success in quality issues, strategic direction and enhancing market share. We appreciate his dedication and talents and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
