"This is an experience that's very unique to watch and be a part of," says Charles. "The same people that were here in the first days telling us we were crazy are the same folks coming in here now and telling us we're brilliant. We went from insanity to brilliance in one year.”
To celebrate their brilliant insanity, the duo will host a pig roast ("local Heritage Farms, of course," writes Tanya in the announcement) with vegetarian sides, all served buffet style. The party starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 18, lasting until about 11 p.m.
The pig-roast event is also a benefit (how very Asheville) with 15 percent of the proceeds for the evening going to benefit the Asheville Area Arts Council.
Cost will be $16/person, drinks not included. April Cope and the Willows will perform and at 9 and David Earl Tomlinson (and a few TBD friends) will play on the later end.
"The idea is that it be a giant festive picnic along our building, giving our regulars a chance to mingle, our chef [Camp Boswell] and kitchen a chance to do something new, and everyone to come down and spend the evening with us," says Triber. "There will be cocktails, local beer and great wine aplenty."
