Tonight and tomorrow are your last chances to catch Montford Park Players perform The Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare (Abridged). If you've never seen the show and wonder how they can cram all those plays into two acts, come out and be amazed (they even fit the sonnets in there). If you have seen the play before, come out for a new version — each year, the script gets updated, and the show is always fresh and surprisingly contemporary.

It's about as much fun as you can have on a Friday night. The weather looks great ("remarkably warm," says http://www.ashevilleweather.com). Bring your picnic dinner and a bottle of wine. And no need to lug around any chairs: you can reserve them online, and they'll be there waiting. Easy breezy.

Here are some further details from the Players:

This Friday and Saturday, May 25 – 26, marks your very last opportunity to see what the Montreal Gazette called “The funniest show you are likely to see in your entire lifetime.” ... No kidding — with the Mayan Apocalypse fast approaching, this really IS your last opportunity to see this wildly funny production!

Can three guys really cover 37 Shakespeare works in less than two hours? This fast-firing comedy parodies all of the Shakespeare plays (plus the sonnets!) with only three performers in two acts. Freshly revised for the 2012 apocalypse, the guys on stage help pack as much Shakespeare as possible into the short time we all have left. How will they do it this year? Well, that anybody’s guess, but knowing them, it’s going to be a wild ride. May the Bard forgive us."

While the rest of the Montford Park Players' season is by donation, Complete Works is the season fundraiser that helps keep the whole thing going. Advance tickets are available, or pay at the door (they do take plastic there!).
