Dance music pulsed from Pritchard Park in downtown Asheville from 2 to 4 today for Zumba in the Park. Asheville Breast Center sponsored the event to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer and the link between physical activity and cancer prevention.

Zumba is a high-energy aerobic dance class. Instructors rotated every 15 minutes to make a cohesive two hour demonstration. The Asheville Breast Center encouraged the attendees to wear pink and jump in whenever they felt the urge to dance. This was the first time the Asheville Breast Center hosted the event, but they said they were very pleased with the turnout and hope to come back soon.
