Two former Progress Energy directors resigned from the Duke Energy board Friday and recommended that Duke start looking for a new CEO.
The departures of directors John Baker II and Theresa Stone added to the fallout over the forced resignation of former Progress CEO Bill Johnson, who had been expected to lead the merged companies.
Their resignation letters continued a growing drumbeat, from state officials and now former board members, to replace reinstated chief executive Jim Rogers. They also further thinned the ranks of top Progress officials represented at the new Duke after what had been described as a “merger of equals.” ...
