Participants in the Occupy Asheville movement marked the first anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City Monday afternoon, marching from Pritchard Park to City Hall. Around 50 marchers carried signs through downtown, stopping at spots that had significance to the Occupy Asheville movement, and came to a halt at the Asheville City Building, where they made short speeches on topics ranging from wealth inequality to environmental concerns.
Last year's Occupy Asheville protests began on October first.
