Here's a six degrees of separation for you: Asheville's Rayna Gellert, who's in the process of releasing her solo debut, also just played a show at The Grey Eagle last week, with her collaborator, Scott Miller (the pair recorded CoDependents together). Before working with Gellert, Miller fronted his band, The Commonwealth, witch formed after his previous band The V-Roys split up. That Knoxville-based Americana group, dating back to '94, brought in guitarist Mic Harrison after original guitarist John Paul Keith left.
So. Gellert --> Miller --> Harrison. And now we've reached our destination.
Harrison now leads his own band, Mic Harrison and The High Score. The rock/Americana group makes short work of that loud, heavy-hitting straight-forward drums-bass-guitars formula that just says Saturday night show.
