North Carolina gubernatorial candidate — and current Lt. Governor — Walter Dalton visited children at Asheville City Schools Preschool on Haywood Road in West Asheville today, Oct. 5 (photo by Bill Rhodes). Dalton spoke about his vision for education in the state.
He mentioned what he sees as the key differences in his gubernatorial campaign and his opponent, Pat McCrory, is that his plans for education are "real, and substantive, not based on wishes."
Dalton also pointed out that he believes voucher systems and the controversial virtual for-profit school K12 are "clear examples of trying to pull profit for a few out of the tax dollars of the many."
