(Asheville, NC) The Family Resource Center at Emma (FRCE), a program of Children First/ Communities In Schools, provides emergency assistance and other support to over 900 English-speaking and Latino families living in the Emma community in West Asheville to help bring them out of crisis and help them move toward more financially stable circumstances.

The FRCE, in partnership with Emma Elementary School, Park Ridge Health, and Buncombe County Schools, invites the public to attend a community-wide event to promote family health and safety. Getting into the holiday spirit, the day is titled “Give Yourself the Gift of Health,” and will involve several community partners and fun activities.

WHAT:
A celebration of the new sidewalks with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 12 pm
Sidewalk safety demonstrations with free safety gear
Free health assessments on the Park Ridge Health Wellness on Wheels bus
The Buncombe County Schools Bookmobile
Healthy cooking demonstrations

The Family Resource Center at Emma on the campus of Emma Elementary School, 37 Brickyard Road
