Meadows: “We’ll never be able to compete with India and China”
Brasstown, NC – Today Hayden Rogers released the following statement in response to Mark Meadows’ comment that the United States will never be able to compete with India and China:
“Mark Meadows made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t believe in the American worker when he said we will never be able to compete with India and China,” said Rogers. “Instead of fighting for policies that level the playing field for American workers in the global economy, my opponent believes we must ‘demand’ more failed free trade deals that will only ship more of our jobs overseas. Now we know why – he never believed the United States could compete in the first place.”
When discussing the state of the economy and education during a WWNC radio debate with Rogers on Friday, Meadows said “we find ourselves competing with the India’s and China’s, of which we’ll never be able to compete.”
“Unlike my opponent, I’ll always fight for America,” said Rogers. “I know that if given a fair shot, our workers will out-produce, out-compete, and out-innovate anyone in the world. It’s time for Mr. Meadows to start believing the same, and it’s time we put the American worker first.”
