Wingate University has announced they have received approval from The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) to begin the Physician Assistant Program at their Hendersonville Campus.
This highly competitive synchronous distance education PA program will enter its first class in August 2013. Currently Wingate has several PA students on clinical rotations in Western N.C. and looks forward to extending affiliations with local hospitals as well as engaging physicians and mid-level providers throughout the area in the education of our PA students.
The Wingate PA program entered the first class in 2008 and the 3rd class will complete the program in December this year. The majority of graduates have accepted jobs in N.C., most in the greater Charlotte area.
Applications are being accepted now. An open house for potential students and applicants will be held on Nov. 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the Hendersonville Campus: Wingate University-Hendersonville, 220 Fifth Avenue East, Hendersonville, N.C. 28792.
