Take a satiric look back at the golden age of Hollywood as Western Carolina University presents Once in a Lifetime. When the "talkies" take over movie theaters, three failing vaudeville actors head to Hollywood to make a little money. When their pockets are bare, they try to cash in on silent movie stars by posing as elocutionists promising to teach actors how to use their voices.

WCU motion picture and television production students will open the show with a short film before the theater students take the stage. The university's music students created the sound design, making this a true student-driven production.

This witty play will be performed Thursday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in WCU's Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center. $15; $10 seniors, WCU staff and students. bardoartscenter.wcu.edu or 227-2479.
