Full announcement from the city of Asheville:
ASHEVILLE - Today at 2:30 p.m., southbound traffic on Charlotte Street (traffic coming into downtown) will be temporarily detoured onto Hillside Street, Madison Avenue and Broad Street to allow for the safe completion of storm drain replacement work under Charlotte Street. Signs will be erected to direct motorists through the detour.
The Southbound lane is expected to be reopened by 9 p.m. tonight. Northbound traffic is not expected to be impacted by the work.
