During this year's six-month-long corral season, AoB expanded its corral services, adding dates like RiverMUSIC and Tour de Toubab. Corral numbers increased dramatically, thanks to volunteers' efforts to educate the public on the availability of free, secure bike parking. Some individual events saw as much as 90% growth over last year's same corral, a testament to the work our volunteers are doing to promote cycling in our city.

All told, AoB corralled nearly 1,800 bikes in 2012!

Bike corrals are an important service, making it easier for Ashevillains to choose to pedal to events like Downtown After 5, Bele Chere, and Clips of Faith. They're also the first introduction to AoB for many members of the general public, and a full corral is a powerful visual reminder of what a presence we cyclists are in this city and on our streets.

We thank you for your continued and enthusiastic support of corrals, and we tip our hats to our corral volunteers.

Help us grow: AoB is actively recruiting corral managers for 2013. Experienced corral volunteers who can be responsible for set-up, volunteer management, and breakdown should email aobikecorral@gmail.com for more information.
