Everyone is invited to participate in the Weight of the Nation event on January 15 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the UNC Asheville Sherrill Center, Mountain View Room.
In the United States, two-thirds of all adults and almost one third of our children are overweight or obese. North Carolina is the 14th most obese state in the nation. The Weight of the Nation event aims to present a solution and encourage conversation about the problem we all know exists by bringing together people from all parts of the WNC community.
Registration is from 5:30 - 6 p.m., with opening remarks at 6 p.m. Snow date set for same time and location on Tuesday, February 5. Register for free at ashevillechamber.org/event/weight-nation. To learn more about this movement, check out the HBO documentary.
