Three TEDx events were recently announced for the 2011 season, with TEDxAsheville 2011 happening in fall rather than summer, on Nov. 13, at the Diana Wortham Theatre.
TEDxAsheville 2011 and a new science event, TEDxKatuah, are both modeled on the global TED conference devoted to showcasing great ideas, performances and technology. Both seek thinkers, dreamers, scientists, entrepreneurs and activists of all ages to support this local platform for sharing great ideas, join the organizing team and share their own great ideas and nominations for 2011. And new to this season are weekly TEDxAsheville Salon events, most Thursdays at Posana in downtown Asheville.

TEDxKatuah’s goal is to bring people together at the intersection of science, art and other disciplines to play with the questions, "What is science?" and “What is your story of discovery?” In an attempt to expand perceptions and dissolve barriers, TEDxKatuah is an opportunity for people to interact with and experience science in more intuitive and playful ways.
