The Asheville-based activist group, Just Us For All, has organized a Friday, Feb. 22, fundraising event, "How We Identify." It is the group's third annual arts+words show, which aims to celebrate different spectrums of queer identity.

"I believe this will be our most informative and inclusive How We Identify event to date,” says Sam “Basil” Roper, the organization’s founder and president. “We don't only expect allies to walk away learning new things about the queer community but people within our community should be enlightened as well."

Just Us For All is dedicated to issues and education related to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and asexual community); it maintains similar goals to ones it has held in the past such as street safety, LGBTQIA awareness demonstrations, gaining gender-neutral bathrooms, queer sensitivity training and reaching out to underrepresented groups.

How We Identify will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. at Toyboat Community ArtSpace (101 Fairview Road, Asheville). The event is free, but a $5 donation is requested.— Just Us For All
