Free screening of Designing Healthy Communities at UNCA

Here's the information via the Buncombe County website:

The PBS series "Designing Healthy Communities" will be shown in a free screening at the Wilma Sherrill Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville on February 18 and March 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. See the flyer below for more details.

Two episodes of the series will be shown each night. The segments look at how our environment impacts key health concerns such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, cancer and depression.

Dr. Richard Jackson of the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, Urban Planning, UCLA School of Public Health, connects bad community design with growing health costs and analyzes and illustrates what architects, planners and citizens are doing about this urgent crisis.

Light refreshments will be provided.
