Xpress met up with Old 97's before sound check at The Orange Peel last week. (The band, originally from Texas, played Asheville on Wednesday, Feb. 13.) Frontman Rhett Miller talked with us about the group's 20th anniversary, his solo work, and how his songwriting career has prepared him to become a fiction writer.
