For the past 10 years, Asheville's restaurants have raised funds for the program by donating a portion of a day's proceeds to the effort. This year, on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 40 restaurants will donate 15 percent of profits to Animal Compassion Network. Dine to Be Kind is one of the largest charity dining events of the year, and it includes a wide variety of restaurants in all quarters of Asheville. It's a good opportunity to support both ACN and a restaurant you love. Scroll down for a list of participating restaurants, or visit Animal Compassion Network online.
Dine to Be Kind coincides with the Small Plate Crawl, an interactive dining event sponsored by Asheville Independent Restaurants. For more information about the crawl, which runs Tuesday, Feb. 26, to Thursday, Feb. 28, check out this article or visit the Crawl's website.
Several restaurants are participating in both events, including Chai Pani, Plant, Pomodoros (Long Shoals Road location), Posana Café, Sunny Point Café, The Cantina Biltmore and Vincenzo's Ristorante and Bistro.
