Asheville's restaurant community is coming together to help a friend in need, and they need your help, too.

Jason Crosby, bar manager at The Junction, was recently diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer, and he is no longer able to work. He and his wife have a 4-year-old daughter, and they're expecting their second child in May.

Tanya Triber, who co-owns The Junction with her husband, Charles, describes Crosby as “a dear, dear person, someone who not only can mix an amazing and beautiful drink, but can always make you smile.”

UPDATE: To make an online donation to the Crosby family through GoFundMe, click here.

On Wednesday, March 13, The Junction will host a three-course, prix-fixe dinner to raise money for Crosby and his family. The Chop Shop has donated pork for the event (although vegetarian options are available), and Blue Door Bakery will provide the desserts.

A silent auction with prizes donated by wine distributors, artists, The Blind Pig Supper Club and others will take place in the turquoise studio space adjacent to the restaurant.

Dinner reservations are available for $35 per person (not including tax, beverages and tip) from 5:30 until 10 p.m. by calling 225-3497. The silent auction runs from 5 to 10 p.m.

From Monday, March 11, until Sunday, March 17, many Asheville bartenders will donate their tips to Jason and his family. Look below for a list of participating bartenders.

On Tuesday, March 12, a representative from Cointreau will buy provide complementary Cointreau and Remy Martin cocktails at Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro in hopes of generating additional tips for donation.
