Back in January, the Food Network came to town and caused a little stir. Brooklyn-based chef and restaurateur Justin Warner, who earned fame on the reality show Food Network Star, was filming the first episode of his new TV show, Rebel Eats. The episode will air on Saturday, March 30, at 10 p.m.
“Armed with $300 in his pocket, a beat up car and a passion for unconventional food and eccentric people, Justin travels the back roads of the South to try everything from moonshine and bacon beer to BBQ in a jar and jelly fish pasta,” reports a press release from the Food Network. “Along the way, Justin meets the cooks and proprietors who, like him, march to their own beat through the world of food.”
Those cooks and proprietors could include Asheville businesses. The Food Network filmed with The Blind Pig Supper Club and Ultimate Ice Cream, and Warner sampled Troy & Sons Moonshine.
