15 students from Dr. Steve Cartier's thermodynamics class joined ELC Work Crew member Lindsay Land in volunteeing with Community Action Opportunities to weatherize a home on August 27. This is the 43rd home that INSULATE!, a program of the ELC, has worked on.
INSULATE! is currently going into its 5th year of serving Western North Carolina. Weatherizing costs approximately $1,500 per home. There are over 60,000 homeowners with weatherization needs in Buncombe County alone, but Community Action only has funding to work on approximately 350 homes per year in a four country region.Read the full article
