Tags:Week of Wonders is "a vibrant glowing lantern compared to all that is dark and dreary in Seattle." The trio (Tim McClanahan, David Dempsey and Leif Anders) lists its influences as Explode Into Colors, Orange Juice, Sun Angle and Abe Vigoda. The latter is, perhaps the most important: That L.A. band coined the term "Tropical Punk" with 2008 album, "Skeleton."
Says a press release, Week of Wonders' "constant dedication to wearing white clothing, the tributes to zodiac sign of Cancer in the lyrics, and the strong song writing that stripped of any aesthetic would still pass for heartbreaking" — they're presenting new album, "Tropical Punk," "in it's newest and most vulnerable form."
Week of Wonders' current tour sees them travel across the country. They'll play Black Out Effectors on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with Thee Loud Crowd and Morbids.
