PRESS RELEASE from Native Kitchen and Social Club
SWANNANOA – Native Kitchen and Social Pub will introduce Head Chef Caine Kaar and his new menu at the Fall Launch Party at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, in Swannanoa. The party will feature the full and diverse new menu, an array of local brews on tap and the music of Black Mountain’s Paco Shipp. Outside dining is available and pets are welcome.
After five years serving as the Sous Chef at The Corner Kitchen, Chef Kaar brings his talent to Native and to give a new spin on the locally influenced menu. Look for a few new items such as roasted jalapeno pull-pork nachos with queso and fried avocado or mushroom dusted sirloin served with blue cheese potato cakes and bacon kale.
“I’m excited to be able to participate in my local community,” says Kaar, who is a recent transfer to Swannanoa. “We have a unique restaurant space here at Native and I want to create food that will complement the environment, and make it so that the people of Swannanoa do not have to drive to Asheville to enjoy a memorable dining experience.
While staying in line with the original menu mission, Kaar plans on adding nightly specials, soups of the day, a kid’s menu, all with a focus on highlighting seasonal flavors. The restaurant will continue all baking in-house and working with local producers such as Ashley Farms, Brasstown Beef and Hickory Nut Gap Farms.
In addition to these changes, Native will formally introduce their new weekly specials including a “Two for Tuesday Pizza” deal and “School Nights” where Native gives back to a local school. During the month of October, Artspace Charter School families can dine-in and Native will donate 20% of their check to the school.
