After listening to dozens of friends and neighbors talk about launching websites or businesses but not knowing how to get started, or people passionate about photography, filmmaking, and outdoor adventure, but “unsure what they can ‘do’ with it,” I’ve decided to pay forward what I’ve learned in new media, and bring a community workshop here to Asheville:
• Thursday Oct 17, 6 to 9 PM - Zimerman Seminar Room, Asheville Jewish Community Center, 236 Charlotte St.
• Suggested donation: $10, but everyone welcome.
• Topics: Receive direct feedback on your website / web presence (or ideate a new one) with exercises / tool kits in writing, photo, video, crowdsourcing, fundraising, social media.
About me: My name is David Miller. I’m an educator, writer and editor raising my family here in Asheville. I’ve been twice awarded the Lowell Thomas for excellence in travel journalism as Senior Editor of Matador Network, work that’s allowed me to produce campaigns for international tourism boards such as Canada and Australia, and major brands such as SanDisk, Intel, Gregory Packs, New Belgium Brewing, and R.E.I. I’m also Director of Curricula at MatadorU, the largest online media school for travelers.
Looking forward to seeing you!
