“My work has always been about honoring [people] where [they] are and helping them to expand that and create a joyous life. Ceremony, to me, is a way in which each individual can commit to, and express important events in their life.
“With our fast paced living, it is important to ... celebrate our lives through ceremony. It seems as though ceremony has become an unimportant part of our lives [because] we are all busy and just don't feel like we have the time, [but] ceremony [and rites of passage] are ways to give full commitment to our desires ... to connect to our true selves so we can let go of the past and get a fresh perspective on everything.
“There are no rules as to how often we can create ceremony, or what is most meaningful. ... The value of ceremony is its ability to create meaning, as we establish special occasions to celebrate who we are and those we love.
