The Asheville branch of Blossman Propane Gas, Appliance and Service located at1401 Smokey Park Highway in Candler, is partnering with MANNA FoodBank in a holiday “Heat for Hunger” program. Partial proceeds of every gallon of propane gas sold through December 20 from this branch will go to MANNA FoodBank as part of Blossman’s commitment to help solve hunger in Western North Carolina.
David Lipe, branch manager notes, “Unfortunately, there are a lot of families in Western North Carolina that aren’t blessed with enough food to eat or money to heat their homes. We see this every day and want to do something to help. There are over 104,000 individuals in WNC, 1 in 4 people, that doesn’t know where their next meal will come from, and a lot of these people are children. The Blossman Gas Family wants to help in this way, with “Heat for Hunger.” But remember, hunger is not just during the holidays. This happens every day in Western North Carolina but a lot of people only think of this situation during this time of the year.”
