Here's an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times:

Books-A-Million is closing its local store after nearly 20 years at the Overlook Village shopping center on Tunnel Road.

Signs posted on the door read “Store Closing, this location only” and “Everything must go.” Staff told customers the store would close Sept. 17.

Citing company policy, the local manager declined comment. Calls to corporate headquarters were not returned.

Books-A-Million opened the 13,000-square-foot store in the Overlook Village shopping center in 1992, the first stand-alone bookstore built by a national chain in Asheville.Read the full article
